PRESENTATIONS

Below are some samples of presentations I designed for conferences and daily classroom learning over my years as a teacher. Most presentations are formatted in Google Slides for easy sharing on this site, but are cross-platform with Power Point. Click on the images to view the slides.

Bridges Beyond the Classroom

Students and I delivered this Google Slides presentation at CSPA 2017. Theme: How to effectively manage an extracurricular student journalism publication.

How to Get Social With Your Media

Students and I delivered this Google Slides presentation at JEA 2015. Theme: How to develop and effectively utilize social media with a small journalisms taff.

Student Press 101

I developed this presentation to introduce our student publication to new staff candidates. It effectively served as a ‘day one’ overview, with various iterations depending on the follow-up assignment.

Adventures + Mishaps in Social Media

I developed this presentation for a faculty meeting, where I shared some of our journalism staff’s experiences in utilizing social media, and encouraged colleagues to take some risks and experiment.

Geeking Out over Audience Engagement

Lots of links in this one! I used this one in ceramics classes to introduce one of my favorite aspects of working with clay: community. Links included to some of the projects my students and I developed.

Mud, Meaning + the Mouse

My colleague and I used this presentation at the National Council of Education in the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) Conference in 2013. The theme of the presentation was how to connect ceramics education with technology in the K-12 ceramics studio. Jared did not attend the conference, but presented his portion via Google Hangouts. Link will download in Power Point.
