Teaching Graphic Design

Keeping it human.

When I taught my first graphic design class at the high school level, the only software available to my students was what was included in the Microsoft Office Suite installed on the PCs in the classroom where we were assigned. Teaching graphic design was an evolution from 2005 through 2018—several different schools, very different tools and contexts. The experience taught me to be a constant problem-solver, and eventually led me to advising student publications.
