Design + Abstraction
This abstraction exercise is an interesting way to connect the composition guidelines we’ve learned in digital photography to the design elements that students might encounter in another arts class.
The challenge is to find definite examples of line, space, texture, space, and contrast while distancing from realistic subjects. Since the camera, by nature, captures realism.
The photography itself is fairly straightforward. Sometimes I present this before we cover manual settings; sometimes after.
