A Year in the Life

As a yearbook adviser, I know that it would be ideal to have students take every photo that appears in the yearbook.

As a club yearbook adviser, I’ve learned that the technical learning curve for candid and action photography is a steep balance to the time that students can commit.

So—I coach from the sidelines, I accompany students to events, and I cover events when it’s necessary.

Or—sometimes when it’s not truly necessary for the yearbook, but I want to cheer on the students while putting my skills to good use.

When things are going well for the yearbook, I’m able to trim my photography down to just the essentials and opportunities to keep my skills sharp, while students cover the rest.
