We start with a photo that each student feels represents something about his personality or interests. Applying the basics of vector drawing that students have learned in previous project work, students create a vector drawing—minus facial features—that illustrates the key elements of the photograph. One of the most challenging aspects of this project is determining what not to include. Students learn the value of emphasis, repetition, and clarity.
